The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has attained a landmark achievement after securing three internationally recognised ISO certifications in a single assessment cycle.
The Authority has been certified under Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS), making it the first public sector institution in Ghana to simultaneously obtain all three standards.
The certifications are globally recognised benchmarks that evaluate institutions on service quality, environmental responsibility, and workplace safety standards.
According to the NPA, the milestone reflects its commitment to strengthening regulatory efficiency, improving stakeholder confidence, and aligning its operations with global best practices in the petroleum downstream sector.
Management of the Authority described the achievement as the result of sustained institutional reforms and continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness.
The NPA further noted that the recognition demonstrates the dedication of its staff and leadership to maintaining high standards in regulatory oversight and service delivery.
Industry observers have described the feat as significant, placing the Authority among a small group of public institutions that have successfully integrated quality management systems with environmental and occupational safety frameworks.
The Authority expressed appreciation to staff, partners and stakeholders for their contribution to the achievement, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining the standards required under the ISO certifications while improving service delivery across the sector.
