The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has postponed its National Executive Conference from September 19 to October 3, 2026, citing changes in the availability of the venue originally scheduled to host the event.
The party announced the postponement in a letter addressed to its chairpersons and signed by the Director of External Affairs.
According to the letter, the decision followed unexpected changes by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) regarding the availability of its facility for the conference.
“Our National Executive Conference, which was scheduled to take place on 19th September, 2026, has been rescheduled to 3rd October, 2026, as a result of unexpected changes made by the University Community (KNUST) regarding the availability of its facility for our conference,” the letter stated.
The party expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the change in schedule, describing the development as unforeseen.
The National Executive Conference is a key event in the NPP’s calendar, as delegates are expected to elect national executives who will lead the party’s affairs over the next four years.
The conference is also expected to play an important role in shaping the party’s leadership and organisational direction ahead of future political contests.
The NPP has indicated that preparations for the conference will continue, with the event now expected to take place on October 3, 2026.
