Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, has responded to critics resurfacing old video clips of him, framing them as reminders of his contributions to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after its 2016 election defeat.
In a Facebook post, he reflected on his visibility in media and Parliament at a time when many party members were reluctant to publicly defend the NDC. “In 2017, when many were afraid to speak for the NDC, a few of us stood up and filled the gap. I was on TV and radio, sometimes three times a day,” George wrote.
He emphasised that the reposted footage underscores, rather than undermines, his dedication to the party’s resurgence and the eventual return of John Dramani Mahama to power. “You may think you are cooking, but with each video you post, you show the stripes on my shoulder as I fought to bring my party, the NDC, to power,” he said.
George noted the party’s current strength, including nearly 190 MPs in Parliament, as evidence of the work done over the years. He also challenged detractors, asking them to reflect on their own contributions.
Concluding his message, George stressed that choosing a peaceful approach should not be mistaken for inaction: “The fact that I have chosen peace does not mean that I am asleep.”
