The Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Mr. Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, has embarked on a bold reform agenda aimed at restoring accountability, transparency, and professionalism in the operations of the state-owned land and development agency.
Speaking at a media engagement, Mr. Nunekpeku disclosed that, under the directive of the Chief of Staff at the presidency, his administration has reversed a number of appointments and promotions made by the previous management. These, he said, were not based on merit but rather on favoritism and breach of established protocols.
“We reversed the decisions because they ignored company policies, the Labour Law, and HR standards,” Mr. Nunekpeku explained. “It was necessary to reset the process and reestablish proper structures that reflect fairness and competence.”
To correct the irregularities, the new management team initiated a transparent recruitment process—advertising vacancies, conducting interviews, and filling positions based on qualifications and merit. According to Mr. Nunekpeku, this has helped to streamline operations across departments and inject professionalism into TDC’s workforce.
Beyond the human resource shake-up, the TDC boss highlighted a number of interventions aimed at reclaiming the credibility of the company, especially in land administration. He stated that a full audit is underway to review land acquisitions and property sales, some of which, he claimed, may have occurred without due diligence.
“Nothing will stop the audit—not unless the sector minister or the president says so,” he said. “Anyone who has presided over improper land sales must be ready to account for their stewardship.”
Mr. Nunekpeku also addressed the stalled Kpone Affordable Housing Project, revealing that some of the contracts were terminated due to underperformance. However, after engaging with the contractors and modifying the project plans, construction has resumed and is expected to deliver 800 new housing units upon completion.
“We came to bare foundations. We’ve revised the drawings, added key design improvements, and now we’re pushing toward real results,” he said.
On the state of the TDC Club House, he expressed dismay over its complete neglect, describing the once vibrant facility as “totally abandoned” and in urgent need of attention.
He assured the public that his management team—whom he described as creative, innovative, and supportive—is committed to transforming TDC’s image and operational effectiveness in the coming years.
“We are focused on doing the core work for which I’ve been appointed,” he added. “The vision is clear, the team is ready, and the projects are set. It’s time to rebuild trust and deliver impact.”
Mr. Nunekpeku’s firm stance on transparency and reform signals a new era for TDC Ghana Limited, one that places ethics, service, and accountability at the forefront of its mission.
