Three outstanding students at the University of Ghana have received scholarships from the Eric Danquah Foundation in recognition of their academic excellence and commitment to agricultural research.
The beneficiaries—Mr. Paul Tetteh Laryea, Mr. Emmanuel Bobbie, and Mr. Lewis Tetteh Kusi—are pursuing Bachelor of Science degrees in Agriculture with a focus on Crop Science. The scholarships cover tuition and accommodation for the 2025/2026 academic year, and include mentorship opportunities designed to prepare them for impactful careers in Plant Breeding and Genetics.
Professor Eric Yirenkyi Danquah, the Foundation’s CEO, noted that the awards aim to cultivate the next generation of skilled agricultural scientists who will contribute to Africa’s innovation and sustainable development. The recipients are the fourth cohort under the EDF Exceptional Excellence Scholarship Scheme, bringing the total number of University of Ghana students supported since 2020 to twelve.
The initiative reflects the Foundation’s broader mission to strengthen capacity in agricultural science and foster leadership among young researchers across the continent.
