The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.
According to a statement from WAEC, a total of 38,727 candidates—comprising 17,596 males and 21,131 females—registered for the second series of the examination. However, 1,354 candidates were absent.
While candidates can now access their results online at www.waecgh.org, the Council has withheld the subject results of 303 candidates and the entire results of 108 others due to suspected malpractices detected during the exams and marking process. Investigations are ongoing to determine the final outcome of these cases.
WAEC also issued a strong warning to candidates against falling victim to fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee via mobile money. The Council emphasized that its results database is highly secure and urged institutions and organizations to verify academic records directly through WAEC’s official website.
WAEC expressed gratitude to stakeholders who contributed to the smooth conduct of the examination and the timely release of results.
