The Wasipe Traditional Council has pledged its full support to the government’s development agenda while urging authorities to prioritise road infrastructure in the North Gonja District.
The assurance was given during a courtesy call by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah as part of the National Democratic Congress “Thank You Tour” of the Savannah Region following the party’s victory in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the chiefs, Tandawura Alhaji Mohammed Amin said the return of the NDC to power had renewed hope among residents, with several long-awaited projects now taking shape across the district.
He praised President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC leadership for what he described as visible development progress.
“Under your leadership and that of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, Ghana has become a construction site. Roads are being opened, projects are restarting and hope is restored in our communities,” he said.
According to him, residents are already witnessing key infrastructure projects, including the construction of a long-awaited bridge in Wasipe, a new College of Education, and a hospital theatre project.
He described the bridge project as a historic breakthrough, noting that the community had waited more than six decades for the project, which is expected to improve transportation and boost trade.
