Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Director, Nana Akomea, is set to formally take his campaign for the party’s First Vice Chairman position to Parliament, beginning with an engagement with members of the Minority Caucus.
The engagement, scheduled for 11:00 a.m. today, is expected to serve as an opportunity for Nana Akomea to present his leadership vision to NPP lawmakers and solicit their support ahead of the party’s internal elections.
The decision to commence his national campaign with the Minority MPs underscores the importance Nana Akomea attaches to the parliamentary caucus in the NPP’s efforts to rebuild its structures and strengthen its preparations for future elections.
Nana Akomea, a long-standing figure in the NPP’s communications and political activities, is expected to use the meeting to highlight his leadership experience and outline strategies for revitalising the party at both the grassroots and national levels.
His campaign is expected to centre on party unity, grassroots mobilisation, organisational restructuring and rebuilding confidence among party supporters as the NPP prepares for its next electoral contest.
The First Vice Chairman position is among the key offices being contested in the party’s internal reorganisation, with several aspirants expected to intensify engagements with delegates and party stakeholders.
Following the meeting with the Minority Caucus, Nana Akomea is expected to embark on further engagements across the country as he seeks to build support for his bid.
His interactions with party members and stakeholders are expected to provide further clarity on his proposed agenda and the role he intends to play in strengthening the NPP should he secure the position.
