Ghana has launched a new National Integrity Awards Scheme aimed at recognising individuals and institutions that demonstrate exemplary ethical leadership, transparency and accountability in service to the nation.
The initiative was officially launched by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.
Held under the theme, “Promoting Integrity, Celebrating Ethical Leadership and Inspiring National Development,” the awards programme seeks to encourage a culture of honesty and responsible leadership across both the public and private sectors.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Bagbin described integrity as a cornerstone of national development, stressing that Ghana’s progress depends on leaders and institutions that uphold the highest ethical standards.
He urged citizens to embrace honesty, accountability and transparency in their personal and professional lives, noting that these values are critical to building public confidence in state institutions.
According to the Speaker, the National Integrity Awards Scheme is intended not only to honour individuals and organisations that exemplify ethical conduct but also to inspire others to uphold integrity in their respective fields.
He said the initiative would help strengthen public trust in governance while promoting responsible leadership and national development.
The awards scheme is expected to serve as a platform for recognising outstanding contributions to ethical governance and reinforcing efforts to build a more transparent, accountable and prosperous Ghana.
