The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has given members and aspirants five days from October 10 to comply with new rules restricting the size and placement of campaign posters and banners during the party’s ongoing internal reorganisation.
In a statement signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey on October 9, the party directed that campaign materials must not exceed five feet by eight feet and should be displayed only at constituency and regional offices or designated election grounds.
The directive follows concerns raised by the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) over oversized campaign materials mounted by some aspirants across the country.
The committee said the measures were necessary to maintain discipline, ensure fairness among aspirants and prevent displays of extravagance, particularly as the NDC governs the country.
The party warned that members who deliberately flout the directive would face disciplinary action under its constitution and electoral guidelines, while urging all aspirants to cooperate with the new rules.
