Following the conclusion of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) historic National Delegates Conference in Kumasi, prominent party stalwart Hon. Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has formally conceded the race for National Chairman, extending a warm message of congratulations to the newly elected Chairman, Mr. John Boadu, and the entire national executive team.
In an emotional and unifying statement released from Kumasi on Sunday, October 4, 2026, the former Energy Minister declared that the outcome of the elections is a victory for the NPP as a whole, emphasizing that internal party contests must never be treated as battles between enemies.
A Call to Heal and Consolidate
Agyarko framed the outcome of the high-stakes conference not as a personal defeat, but as a reaffirmation of the party’s rich democratic tradition and commitment to the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition.
Addressing the intense rivalry that often accompanies internal elections, he reminded party members across the country that the primary objective must now shift toward healing internal rifts and preparing a unified front ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“Internal contests in our party are not battles between adversaries; they are family contests among brothers and sisters committed to the same sacred cause,” Agyarko stated. “Today, there are no individual victors or vanquished—it is the New Patriotic Party that has emerged victorious. The election is behind us, and the time for consolidation begins immediately.”
He added that the political and economic challenges confronting the nation require the ruling party to immediately “close ranks, bind every wound, and present an impenetrable, united front.”
Pledging Full Support to Boadu and Bawumia
Demonstrating commitment to party cohesion, the former chairmanship contender pledged his unwavering readiness to work hand-in-hand with the newly elected leadership structure.
He explicitly aligned himself with the new National Chairman, John Boadu, the entire National Executive Committee, and the party’s Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, signaling a complete focus on securing power in the 2028 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
“I stand fully and resolutely ready to support Chairman John Boadu, the entire newly elected National Executive Committee, and our Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he affirmed. He stressed that his personal dedication remains focused on mobilizing grassroots supporters across all 16 regions to return the party to government.
Gratitude to Supporters and Electoral Organizers
Reflecting on his campaign, Agyarko expressed heartfelt appreciation to his campaign team, volunteers, constituency executives, and thousands of delegates—both within Ghana and in the diaspora—who backed his candidacy.
He commended his supporters for conducting a dignified, high-spirited campaign rooted in deep loyalty to the NPP tradition. He assured them that their sacrifices and hard work were not in vain and would continue to serve the broader interests of the party.
Agyarko also extended commendations to key electoral organizers, including the NPP National Elections Committee, the Electoral Commission of Ghana, and national security agencies for managing a smooth, transparent, and peaceful voting process in Kumasi.
He concluded with an inspiring charge to the party rank and file, urging all members to embrace a spirit of fellowship: “Let us rise together as one indivisible elephant family, united in purpose, discipline, and fellowship.
