The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Council of Elders, Hackman Owusu Agyemang, has condemned former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Adwoa Safo, for her recent public criticism of party leaders, labeling her actions as inappropriate and unacceptable.
Addressing tensions within the Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Mr. Owusu Agyemang emphasized that the party would not condone her persistent media outbursts.
“She has completely gone out of order, and the General Secretary has made it clear that she will be referred to the disciplinary committee,” he stated.
He warned that Adwoa Safo must put an end to her public statements against the party and its leadership, asserting that her conduct violates party regulations.
“As a party, we will enforce the necessary disciplinary measures. We are dismayed by her actions, especially given her previous senior roles in government and the party,” he added.
Mr. Owusu Agyemang reiterated that Adwoa Safo must immediately halt all media engagements targeting the party leadership.
“This is a human institution. She has erred, and we are advising her to stop making these statements,” he stressed.
Despite the current tensions, he expressed optimism about resolving the situation. “We will determine the way forward, and I hope she will comply with what has been communicated by the General Secretary,” he concluded.
