Efforts to strengthen party structures in northern Ghana are receiving a boost as the New Patriotic Party accelerates work on its regional office complex in Tamale.
The latest push comes from Safia Mohammed, Deputy National Women’s Organiser, whose significant donation of building materials, cash, and logistics is being described as a major step toward completing the project.
The contribution—made at the construction site in Zogbeli—adds fresh momentum to what is expected to become the party’s first ultra-modern regional office in the Northern Region. Party officials say the facility will enhance coordination, administration, and grassroots mobilisation.
Beyond the immediate impact on the project, the gesture reflects a broader internal strategy to reinforce the party’s base following the 2024 general elections. Hajia Safia indicated that the women’s wing is taking a proactive role in supporting both organisational growth and electoral readiness.
She noted that her post-election tour across all 16 regions was aimed at rebuilding morale and strengthening unity within the party, adding that the NPP remains focused on repositioning itself for the 2028 elections.
Her remarks also highlighted the growing influence of women in Ghanaian politics, stressing their decisive role in shaping electoral outcomes and national development.
Regional executives have welcomed the support, describing it as the largest single contribution to the project so far, and urging other stakeholders to follow suit to ensure its timely completion.
The initiative also included practical support such as water supply for construction during the Ramadan period, underscoring the urgency and commitment behind the effort.
As work progresses, the project is increasingly being seen not just as an infrastructure development, but as part of a wider effort to rebuild and energise the party’s presence in the Northern Region.
