The women’s wing of the New Patriotic Party is taking a more active role in party infrastructure development, with a major contribution toward the construction of its Northern Regional office in Tamale.
Leading the effort, Safia Mohammed, Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the party, donated building materials, cash, and assorted items to accelerate work on the project at Zogbeli, a suburb of Tamale. The support included 300 bags of cement, GH¢30,000, and essential construction and welfare supplies for workers on site.
The initiative highlights a broader push by the party’s women’s wing to strengthen internal structures and contribute directly to operational capacity ahead of future elections. Hajia Safia noted that creating a modern and functional regional office would enhance administration and coordination in the region.
Beyond infrastructure, she used the occasion to rally party members following the 2024 general elections, stressing that the NPP remains organised and focused on rebuilding momentum. She indicated that her nationwide engagements after the polls were aimed at re-energising grassroots supporters and reinforcing unity within the party.
As an aspirant for the National Women’s Organiser position, Hajia Safia underscored the electoral importance of women, pointing out their significant share of the population and influence in shaping political outcomes. She urged members in the region to remain cohesive to improve the party’s chances of reclaiming lost parliamentary seats and positioning itself strongly for the 2028 elections.
Party officials in the region described the gesture as a major boost to the project. Northern Regional executives commended the scale of the donation and called on other stakeholders to contribute toward the timely completion of what is expected to be the first ultra-modern regional office of the party in the area.
The contribution also included support services such as water provision during the Ramadan period, helping sustain construction work and workers on site.
